Role Summary

The Assistant Manager of Maintenance will be instrumental in maximizing uptime, enhancing reliability, and improving the performance of printing presses and related equipment through diligent preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the highest possible availability of printing presses by reducing machine breakdowns and minimizing downtime.
• Develop and implement comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems.
• Collaborate with production teams to uphold print quality, accurate registration, and consistent machine functionality.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to address recurring breakdowns and execute effective corrective measures.
• Track and analyze maintenance metrics such as machine uptime, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and total downtime hours.
• Oversee management of vital spare parts, control inventory, and supervise procurement activities for maintenance needs.
• Manage maintenance expenses and contribute to the engineering budget planning process annually.
• Document all maintenance activities thoroughly, including breakdowns, repairs, preventive maintenance, spares used, and equipment history.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including maintenance of machine guards, emergency stops, interlocks, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and other health, safety, and environment (HSE) requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise technicians while enforcing adherence to safety and maintenance standards.
• Communicate and coordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), contractors, and service providers to secure technical assistance and equipment upkeep.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement aiming to boost equipment reliability, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience relevant to offset printing, packaging, or converting sectors.
• Preference will be given to candidates with maintenance experience in offset printing environments.
• Proficient understanding of preventive and breakdown maintenance techniques, root cause analysis, and systems including PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFD).
• Competent in utilizing MS Office for maintenance documentation and reporting purposes.
