Logistics - Dispatch and Primary Transport Coordinator

Role Overview

This position involves overseeing logistics, dispatch, and primary transport operations with a focus on team leadership, stakeholder coordination, and operational efficiency. The role demands proactive management of deployment plans, transport orders, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely shipment execution and operational excellence.

Team & Stakeholder Leadership

• Establish and nurture robust partnerships with all stakeholders, including client representatives.
• Lead and support the internal Genpact team through recruitment, onboarding, and administrative assistance.
• Address and resolve non-operational personnel issues and escalations raised by team members or stakeholders.
• Oversee the monitoring and analysis of team and organizational performance metrics alongside the Client Performance team regularly.
• Facilitate problem-solving sessions aimed at continuous performance enhancement with Customer Service Experts.
• Manage team workload distribution to maximize resource utilization.
• Implement employee performance reviews on an annual and mid-year basis.

Dispatch & Deployment Planning

• Collaborate with stakeholders to formulate detailed deployment plans, ensuring readiness for shipment execution.
• Execute and evaluate Rough Cut Deployment Plans and SAP APO-generated strategies.
• Assess Truck Load Building, forecast data, and stock availability at the product code level.
• Arrange special freight executions and generate transport orders using SAP or Oracle systems.
• Prioritize transportation needs to meet customer service expectations appropriately.
• Maintain active coordination with Warehousing, Production Planning, Documentation, and Logistics departments.
• Ensure adherence to daily dispatch schedules, verifying complete loading and shipping of previous day's orders.
• Adapt plans and execution strategies as necessary to meet changing requirements.
• Serve as the communication link between Production and Transport Planning to ensure efficient, feasible execution aligned with customer demand.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Demonstrated experience in logistics and transport operations.
• Fluent in English with strong oral and written communication abilities across organizational levels.
• Proven focus on process optimization and delivering consistent results.
• Decisive and action-oriented mindset capable of navigating uncertainty.
• Strong team collaboration and respect for diverse team dynamics.

• Experience in process development, implementation, and improvement.
• Self-driven and independent with excellent negotiation and problem-solving capabilities.
• Comprehensive understanding of supply chain, planning business drivers, and key performance metrics.

• Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and JDA Manugistics.
• Ability to handle time-sensitive priorities efficiently.
• Background in supply planning or logistics operations.

Preferred Competencies

• Prior hands-on experience with SAP APO.
• Familiarity with an additional European language is advantageous.
• Exposure to production scheduling, inventory control, or operational planning domains.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Job Details

• Anticipated Start: Within 15 to 30 days of offer acceptance.
• Work Location: Bangalore, India.
• Work Arrangement: Primarily 5 days per week onsite with flexible options post go-live phase.
• Shift Pattern: Rotational shifts covering 24/7 operations, with working days possibly including weekends and holidays to ensure continuous service.
