Job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator responsible for overseeing the smooth flow, tracking, and management of inventory throughout our supply chain network, including warehouses, transportation centers, service hubs, and final delivery points. This person will manage both outgoing and return logistics, control inventory allocation, monitor shipments, coordinate with vendors, maintain documentation integrity, and work towards reducing logistics costs effectively.

Key Duties

  • Organize and manage material movements end-to-end across supply chain nodes.
  • Plan and implement forward and reverse logistics processes.
  • Schedule pick-ups, dispatches, deliveries, and returns according to business needs.
  • Evaluate transport feasibility and optimize shipment routes for efficiency.
  • Ensure prompt transfer of inventory between all operational locations.
  • Proactively identify and resolve possible shipment delays or risks.
  • Track inventory flow at multiple sites and coordinate stock replenishment to prevent shortages.
  • Allocate inventory optimally based on demand and conduct stock verifications.
  • Flag slow-moving, excess, or damaged stock and suggest necessary measures.
  • Manage the return and retrieval of damaged or obsolete goods, coordinating repairs, replacement, or disposal as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of all reverse logistics activities and ensure quick turnaround times.
  • Monitor shipment status continually and liaise with transport and courier partners to address issues like delays, damages, or losses.
  • Ensure logistics vendors adhere to service agreements and follow up rigorously on unresolved deliveries.
  • Maintain all logistics documentation, such as dispatch logs, delivery proofs, and billing records, ensuring compliance and preventing errors.
  • Support audit activities by providing accurate logistics records and data.
  • Generate and present regular MIS reports covering logistics KPIs including delivery performance, stock movement, and vendor efficiency.
  • Serve as the focal point among warehouses, procurement, finance, field teams, and vendors to ensure seamless communication and operations.

Required Competencies

  • Clear understanding of logistics flow, warehouse coordination, and inventory control.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and operations simultaneously with excellent coordination.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve logistical and operational challenges.
  • Attention to detail in managing shipment records, inventory accuracy, and billing compliance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for managing vendor and stakeholder relationships.
  • Effective time management and organizational aptitude to prioritize tasks under deadlines.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in MS Excel advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Data Analysis.
  • Good command of MS Word and professional email communication.
  • Familiarity with logistics tracking and inventory management software.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, Zoho, or similar platforms is advantageous.

Performance Metrics

  • Timely deliveries as a percentage of total shipments.
  • Inventory availability across all locations.
  • Accuracy in shipment tracking and reverse logistics cycle time.
  • Precision in inventory reconciliation.
  • Cost-effectiveness of logistics operations.
  • Compliance of vendors with service level agreements.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of management information reports.
  • Speed and effectiveness in resolving logistics-related escalations.

Authority and Decision-Making

  • Set priorities for shipment dispatches based on urgency and operational needs.
  • Recommend and implement inventory allocation adjustments to prevent stock-outs.
  • Escalate issues such as shipment delays and vendor non-compliance.
  • Approve routine shipment schedules within existing logistics policies.
  • Suggest alternate shipping routes or transportation modes to ensure timely delivery.
  • Initiate corrective actions where inventory discrepancies or shipment anomalies are detected.
  • Validate logistics documentation before billing processing.
  • Raise concerns regarding inventory risks and age-related issues for management consideration.

Additional Information

Educational Qualification: Must be a graduate in any stream.

Experience Level: Between 1 to 2 years in related logistics or supply chain roles.

Compensation: Salary ranges from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 28,000 per month.

Location: This position is based at Turbe, Mumbai.
