Logistics Coordinator - Ghana

Overview

OBT Group is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to support operational excellence and sustainable growth. This role serves as the essential interface connecting clients, internal teams, customs and regulatory bodies, shipping agents, port operators, transporters, and other logistics service providers. The coordinator will ensure all logistics activities are executed timely, aligned with company policies, regulatory compliance, and superior service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage logistics operations coordination, fostering smooth workflow across departments and partners.
• Handle customer relations and maintain strong client communication.
• Prepare quotations and oversee cost control measures.
• Ensure customs and regulatory compliance throughout shipments.
• Maintain accurate documentation and organize job files.
• Coordinate land transport activities to support delivery schedules.
• Develop and sustain relationships with stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Comprehensive understanding of customs rules, port handling, and trucking logistics.
• Expertise in documentation for sea, air, or land import/export processes (including MBL/HBL, delivery orders, gate-in/gate-out procedures).
• Experience tracking cross-border shipments and temporary imports.
• Familiarity with local customs laws and systems.
• Capability to perform effectively in fast-paced environments, including on-the-ground oversight at ports or terminals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills facilitating coordination with diverse stakeholders.
• Meticulous attention to detail combined with problem-solving aptitude and proactive operational management.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in logistics or related fields.
• Between 3 to 5+ years in sea and air freight, port operations, or ground logistics.
• Previous supervisory or managerial experience within logistics settings.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with transport management systems is advantageous.
• English fluency is essential; knowledge of French is beneficial.
