The Group Compliance team at their Dubai Head Office is looking to add a Vessel Screening Analyst. This role entails assisting the Group Compliance Officer by meticulously reviewing vessels operated by the OBT Group, emphasizing sanctions compliance and maritime risk factors. The analyst plays a vital part in conducting vessel risk assessments, analyzing maritime risk indicators, and generating detailed screening reports following Group guidelines. This function supports robust governance, audit readiness, and accountable shipping practices throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate vessels flagged by preliminary screening methods.
• Execute risk-oriented vessel screenings utilizing authorized tools and maritime data resources.
• Analyze various vessel risk metrics such as involvement in sanctioned trade routes, visits to high-risk ports, AIS signal interruptions, Ship-to-Ship transfer activities, and other maritime risk elements.
• Draft concise and methodical reports compliant with Group compliance procedures.
• Escalate cases involving vessels presenting significant risk or uncertainty directly to the Group Compliance Officer.
• Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of screening procedures including templates, checklists, and workflows.
• Keep thorough and audit-friendly records of screening activities.
• Collaborate with team members to clarify data inputs, gather requisite information, and ensure timely assessments.
• Maintain uniform vessel screening standards across the entire Group.
• Guarantee confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism throughout all screening tasks and documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possess a bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, Law, International Relations, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in shipping, maritime operations, compliance, risk assessment, or screening roles.
• Basic knowledge of maritime operations, vessel traffic monitoring, and shipping documents.
• Familiarity with AIS (Automatic Identification System) data and maritime risk factors.
• Strong analytical capabilities and a balanced, risk-focused evaluation approach.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to generate clear and structured written reports.
• Proficiency in English communication, both written and spoken.
• Comfortable working with data analytics tools, spreadsheets, and compliance software.
