Job Summary

The Engineering team at Crouse Health is seeking a Locksmith responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and adjusting diverse lock types. The role includes key duplication, door and hardware upkeep, and assisting with electronic door swipe systems. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with working hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain, install, and adjust various locking devices such as combination locks, tumbler locks, and mortise locks.
• Configure locks within a master key system, including planning and documentation.
• Duplicate keys and craft pin tumbler and bit type keys using key codes and cylinders.
• Open locks and safes without keys or combinations when necessary.
• Manage and organize an expanding computerized key coding and filing system for the hospital.
• Install doors and hardware components like door closers, coordinators, flush bolts, locking mechanisms, and exit devices, as well as perform their maintenance and repairs.
• Engage in fire brigade activities.
• Keep the work environment tidy and maintain cleanliness post-task.
• Complete and submit timesheets, parts removal slips, and work orders according to department procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent certification is mandatory.
• Possession of a current Locksmith license issued by the New York State Department of Education.

Compensation

The hourly pay ranges between $21.93 and $40.09 depending on experience.
