Locate Technician - Belleville, IL

Overview

Stake Center Locating is seeking both new and experienced Locate Technicians dedicated to identifying underground utilities, troubleshooting issues, and marking sites with paint and flags to help prevent damage in local communities. This is a hands-on position that involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions, requiring individuals who enjoy autonomous work and can solve problems promptly and accurately. Full training will be provided on-site with compensation during all training periods.

Compensation and Benefits

Primary Responsibilities

• Commit to safety as the highest priority in all activities.
• Employ tablets to receive, document, and manage work orders and communications.
• Analyze maps and blueprints to plan effective and efficient locating sequences.
• Use specialized location equipment and applications to accurately detect underground utilities.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with team members, supervisors, and clients, including property owners.

Candidate Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent certification.
• Hold a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving history.
• Physically able to walk up to 5 miles on multiple days weekly.
• Capable of carrying 5 pounds of locating devices for long durations and lifting up to 25 pounds; assisted lifting of up to 75 pounds is also required.
• Successful completion of background checks and drug testing prior to employment.

Work Schedule

• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as required by work demands.
• Participation in on-call duties for handling emergency requests on a rotational schedule.
