Localization Technical Lead

Role Overview

We are seeking a Localization Technical Lead with over 5 years of experience in software engineering to oversee and enhance localization processes and systems. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of localization tools, translation workflows, programmatic integration, and automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the chief technical expert on localization implementation and quality for designated products and content domains.
• Drive the advancement of localization efficiency, quality, and scalability by applying engineering solutions.
• Offer technical support and guidance to both suppliers and internal teams regarding localization tools and execution.
• Detect bottlenecks within localization workflows and lead initiatives to refine them via automation and system improvements.
• Enhance shared localization software and establish technical standards for the organization.
• Design and improve integrations among product systems, localization platforms (TMS, content storage), and CI/CD workflows.
• Create automated processes for content extraction, file handling, translation coordination, validation, and testing.
• Collaborate closely with Localization Program Management and various technical teams to uphold localization quality and decision-making processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A minimum of five years in software engineering roles.
• Demonstrable experience with localization and translation management systems such as Phrase, Passolo, or comparable platforms.
• In-depth understanding of full localization workflows: content extraction, translation, review, quality assurance, and deployment.
• Strong coding experience in one or more languages like Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
• Proficiency with SQL and/or NoSQL database technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Background in developing or enhancing automation frameworks.
• Robust backend development capabilities and complex problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field, or commensurate experience.
