Linehaul Dispatch Agent

Role Overview

The Linehaul Dispatch Agent is responsible for overseeing daily transport activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective logistics operations. This includes managing tour data in the Linehaul systems, preparing freight documents, and coordinating with drivers and transport service providers.

Primary Duties

• Recording and updating daily tour data using Linehaul systems (such as ROCS)
• Preparing freight documents and handing them over to drivers
• Conducting regular driver briefings and debriefings
• Organizing and coordinating special transport assignments with service providers
• Ensuring efficient and cost-efficient transport workflows
• Maximizing tour utilization through continuous monitoring of traffic lanes
• Monitoring timely availability of vehicles and resources, offering proactive communication and support to maintain smooth operations
• Coordinating trailer and swap body provisioning closely with warehouse operations and shunter drivers to ensure punctual loading and unloading
• Overseeing transport service delivery to maintain agreed quality standards
• Detecting and assessing any deviations from network plans caused by factors like weather, traffic jams, or accidents, communicating the impact, and initiating corrective actions to uphold service levels

Qualifications

• Completed commercial training, preferably as a freight forwarding and logistics services clerk
• Some professional experience in transport, logistics, or dispatching is beneficial
• Solid understanding of logistics and operational transport processes
• Familiarity with dispatch or transport management systems like ROCS is advantageous
• Proficient in German and English, both spoken and written
• Good geographical knowledge
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Team-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently with solution focus
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make decisions in a fast-paced operational environment
• Willingness to work varying shifts, including night and weekend hours
