Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Line Mechanic to join our Construction and Maintenance team. This role is crucial in maintaining the uninterrupted supply of electricity by constructing and servicing overhead lines and operating equipment up to 33kV.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain overhead electrical lines ensuring adherence to customer, project, and network standards.
- Assist in planning and executing construction, maintenance, and upgrading tasks for electricity lines and associated infrastructure.
- Install and replace overhead conductors and pole structures where necessary.
- Conduct overhaul of non-load-bearing pole hardware within electrical networks up to 110kV.
- Operate electrical equipment mounted on the ground or structures for lines up to 33kV.
- Maintain consistent high standards of safety and professionalism throughout all duties.
Qualifications and Experience
- Required: EWRB Registration as a Line Mechanic and a valid New Zealand Driver Licence.
- Highly desirable: HT Licence for heavy transport.
- Additional skills related to the network or customers are advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience handling overhead lines, with a firm commitment to safety demonstrated by an excellent safety record.
- Background in electrical maintenance and construction environments, especially within high-risk settings adhering to safety protocols.
- Strong communication abilities and effectiveness in teamwork and customer interactions.
