Job Overview

The Light Duty Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in various facility areas including hard floors, carpets, washrooms, kitchenettes, and waste disposal zones.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Foster an inclusive, innovative, and collaborative workplace culture.
• Develop positive working relationships through attentive listening and open communication.
• Participate fully in all required training programs.
• Follow all company health and safety policies and guidelines.
• Perform floor care duties such as sweeping, dry mopping, washing, and buffing floors and stairwells using both manual and power scrubbing tools.
• Vacuum carpets and mats in offices and communal areas, conduct spot cleaning daily, and shampoo carpets when directed.
• Maintain cleaning equipment by conducting preventative maintenance on floor machines, vacuums, scrubbers, and buffers.
• Additional site-specific duties may include:
  • Emptying garbage and recycling bins, replacing liners, and transporting waste to designated collection points.
  • Thoroughly cleaning washrooms and kitchens including disinfecting fixtures, appliances, door handles, walls, mirrors, countertops, partitions, waste containers, and floors.
  • Refilling consumable supplies like toilet paper, hand towels, soap, and sanitizers.
  • Spot cleaning walls, doors, and kick plates to remove marks and smudges.
  • Cleaning elevators as required.
  • Monitoring and reporting defects such as clogged urinals and non-functioning lights.
  • Performing high dusting and wall washing tasks.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
• Well organized, energetic, and physically capable of sustaining demanding work.
• Proficient in using various cleaning tools and equipment; experience with auto scrubbers considered an advantage.
• Dependable with reliable transport to commute to work sites.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.
