Job Overview

The Heavy Duty Cleaner is responsible for comprehensive cleaning duties including the maintenance of hard floors, carpets, washrooms, common areas, and offices. Additional duties include garbage collection and disposal following established protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairways, and other internal surfaces.
• Perform tasks such as stripping, waxing floors, steam cleaning carpets, and window cleaning as requested.
• Clean interior glass surfaces including windowsills, door glass, and partitions.
• Maintain cleanliness of entry doors by washing glass and trim on both interior and exterior sides; regularly clean and spot treat interior walls.
• Clean and restock restrooms daily, ensuring all surfaces such as glass, tiles, shelves, and partitions are cleaned thoroughly, waste receptacles emptied, and supplies replenished.
• Report defects like malfunctioning urinals or lighting issues to supervisors promptly.
• Waste management including collecting trash daily from designated points and disposing of it appropriately; replace liners in bins as per guidelines.
• Perform high dusting and wall washing chores.
• Handle compactors, lift loads up to 50 lbs, operate heavy-duty cleaning equipment, and perform garbage changes.
• Travel between two buildings located across the street to access shower facilities as necessary.
• Assist supervisors with additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to follow directions and work independently while contributing positively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using various cleaning tools and equipment.
• Must have personal transportation to commute between locations.
• Strong attention to detail, pride in delivering outstanding service, good organizational skills, plus the stamina and energy required for physically demanding work.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Background Check is mandatory.
