Life Guard

Overview

Westin Hotels & Resorts in Doha, Qatar is seeking a dedicated Life Guard to ensure the safety and enjoyment of guests at their recreational facilities. This full-time role demands vigilance, quick response, and a commitment to safety and guest service.

Key Responsibilities

• Observe swimmers attentively and employ appropriate rescue techniques when help is needed.
• Constantly monitor the swimming area to identify unsafe conditions, unusual activities, or swimmers in distress.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment.
• Recognize potential situations where guests might not safely engage in activities and promptly notify supervisors or management.
• Provide aid to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
• Create a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for patrons.
• Handle tasks such as collecting, folding, and stacking towels according to company procedures.
• Clean pool surroundings by mopping and washing as required.
• Report accidents, injuries, and hazardous working conditions to management; participate in safety training and obtain necessary certifications.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures; report maintenance or accident risks immediately.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uniform at all times.
• Protect confidential company information and safeguard company property.
• Support colleagues respectfully and work collaboratively toward achieving team goals.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Physically handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds (22.7 kg) independently and assist with items over 75 pounds (34 kg).
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during shifts.
• Move promptly as needed to respond to work situations, including running or jogging.
• Visually inspect equipment and tools regularly to identify faults.
• Manipulate objects requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Reach above head and below knees, bend, twist, pull, and stoop as necessary.
• Navigate uneven, sloped, or slippery surfaces, as well as climb ladders, stairs, and ramps safely.
• Greet and acknowledge guests professionally using clear and appropriate language; answer phones with proper etiquette.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors that are consistent with the role.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: No prior related work experience required.
• Supervision Experience: None required.
• Certifications: CPR certification, First Aid certification, and any other required local or state agency certifications.
• Familiarity with sports equipment and lifesaving techniques.
