Job description
Overview
This position entails executing specialized aircraft maintenance tasks that directly support flight operation checks and maintenance duties. The Licensed Aircraft Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective functioning of aircraft within their authorized scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively plan and carry out assigned maintenance activities, using the appropriate equipment and tooling following company procedures.
- Evaluate existing work procedures and standards, suggesting improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Authorize and release work done by mechanics, confirming compliance with company and customer standards such as dispatch reliability and defect allowances.
- Maintain high standards for Qatar Airways and customer products by completing aircraft maintenance tasks per established policies and procedures, providing strong support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve technical issues within their authority to maintain aircraft and component serviceability in line with schedules.
- Offer guidance and hands-on training to subordinate technicians and mechanics.
- Supervise others’ work to ensure workmanship quality and correct use of tools.
- Execute other departmental duties as directed by the Department Head.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- Possess a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, Trade, or Vocational Aircraft Maintenance qualification; or a Degree (B.Eng., BSc) or equivalent in aircraft engineering.
- Hold at least one valid QR main fleet ICAO/QCAA license and approvals.
- Have a minimum of three years of relevant aircraft certifying experience as EN.00 for internal candidates.
- Must secure licenses to operate heavy equipment and vehicles to support maintenance tasks as required.
- Capable of selecting appropriate tools and equipment, solving problems using mathematical methods, and managing operation of equipment or systems.

Minimum education
