Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Cloud Engineering

About the Role

This full-time academic position seeks a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to provide high-quality education in Cloud Engineering within the School of Engineering. The focus includes delivering instruction and mentorship in cloud engineering, cloud-native application development, DevOps, and emerging technologies through applied and experiential learning methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and teach courses covering cloud engineering, cloud-native applications using Python, JavaScript, APIs, SDKs, microservices, and managed cloud platforms.
• Implement DevOps and platform engineering concepts including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, monitoring, and automation.
• Incorporate emerging technologies such as AI, Generative AI, Data Analytics, and IoT within cloud environments in curriculum and projects.
• Create industry-relevant learning materials, assessments, and hands-on activities.
• Guide and supervise student projects aligned with current industry practices.
• Participate actively in curriculum design, academic quality assurance, and continuous enhancements.
• Stay current with industry evolutions by engaging in relevant projects and integrating new technologies into teaching.

Candidate Requirements

• Academic credentials in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cloud Computing, or equivalent fields.
• Demonstrated practical experience in cloud-native application development and DevOps or platform engineering.
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages including Python and JavaScript, coupled with experience in API and SDK integration with cloud services.
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for instructing and mentoring students.
• Experience or interest in AI, IoT, and cloud-facilitated digital transformation is a plus.
• Cloud certifications such as AWS or Azure are advantageous.
