Job description

Role Summary

The Lean Manufacturing Manager acts as the global technical authority for Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, establishing the "Standard Way of Working" throughout all worldwide operations. This role guarantees synchronization and waste elimination in every process step from Request for Quotation (RFQ) to Ready for Shipment (RFS), governed by rigorous technical standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, review, and enhance the Value Stream mapping process to optimize and eradicate gaps between RFQ and RFS phases.
  • Evaluate and confirm global manufacturing process standards to ensure Lean principles are effectively implemented, maintained, and audited consistently.
  • Craft and deploy Lean strategies at the plant level, aligning daily operations with corporate productivity and quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead and support a specialized team comprising two Methods/Standardization Engineers and one Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Establish competency benchmarks for Lean and Logistics roles across the organization, overseeing certification initiatives for experts.
  • Maintain and expand the "Global Best Practice Library" to standardize improvements derived from all facilities.
  • Serve as the final authority approving new manufacturing techniques, ensuring Lean compliance before transitioning to production.
  • Direct impactful Six Sigma projects targeting reduction of process variability in manufacturing and administrative functions.
  • Approve plant expansion plans and equipment designs to conform with technical standards emphasizing flow efficiency and ergonomic principles.
  • Supervise logistics to ensure material handling operates as a pull system, preventing bottlenecks in manufacturing.
  • Champion the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies such as automation, live tracking, and digital twins to enhance global visibility of goods flow.
  • Develop and track the "Global Health Scorecard" encompassing Lead times, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), scrap rates, handling damages, and inventory turnover.
  • Lead complex Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) addressing systemic issues threatening quality standards with Six Sigma approaches.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial engineering, or related disciplines; MBA or equivalent qualification specializing in Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • At least 8 years of experience in project control and lean manufacturing settings, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership "champion" role.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in project management and leadership principles.
  • Expertise in risk assessment and data-driven decision making.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement tools.
  • Strong command of Lean methodologies and Six Sigma practices.
  • Competent in using MS Office suite and ERP systems.
  • Experience conducting process audits.
