Job description
Role Overview
The Specialist, CAPEX is responsible for managing all procurement activities concerning Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) following the company's defined procedures and performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process related to Capital Expenditure purchases.
- Evaluate and critically analyze technical specifications associated with CAPEX projects.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define and maintain vendor lists.
- Engage with both local and international vendors to enhance supplier quality and availability.
- Consult with legal advisors when confidential information is involved in project scopes.
- Track and adhere to project schedules and deadlines.
- Participate in vendor and internal client meetings to ensure alignment.
- Issue requests for quotations and bid invitations to external suppliers.
- Assess bids and offers received to identify the best technical, commercial, and financial options.
- Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders efficiently.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, conditions, and warranties with suppliers based on management’s mandate.
- Recommend awarding contracts to the most advantageous offers.
- Issue purchase orders, release orders, or contracts swiftly within specified timeframes.
- Ensure compliance of purchased products with required specifications and timely delivery.
- Build and nurture ethical business relationships with vendors and internal clients.
- Contribute actively to procurement objectives, action plans, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Follow legal and safety standards during all purchasing activities.
- Oversee the entire purchasing cycle from request initiation through payment completion.
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation according to company policies.
- Conduct periodic analysis and reporting on procurement that leads to cost reductions and savings.
- Drive achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for procurement.
- Prepare and maintain standard reports related to budget, forecasts, and cost savings.
- Confirm that purchase orders and contracts are acknowledged and executed by vendors within stipulated timelines.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by superiors that comply with legal, ethical, and company standards.
Educational Requirements
A bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, engineering, data science, commerce, or a closely related discipline is required.
Experience
Candidates must have at least three years of professional experience in procurement.
