Consultant, FI/CO

Role Overview

The Consultant specializing in Financial Accounting and Controlling (FI/CO) is tasked with the deployment, ongoing support, enhancement, and optimization of SAP FI/CO financial solutions. This position collaborates closely with business units to ensure compliant, efficient, and reliable financial operations. Responsibilities include maintaining system integration, governance, audit readiness, user training, and alignment with corporate digital transformation goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with Finance, Procurement, Commercial, and Operations stakeholders to analyze requirements and deliver SAP Finance solutions.
• Configure and uphold SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA financial processes encompassing General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Centre and Profit Centre Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, Treasury, and Profitability Analysis.
• Manage integrations between SAP Finance and other enterprise applications such as MM, SD, PM, HCM, banking interfaces, reporting tools, and external systems.
• Participate in the full SAP lifecycle including implementation, enhancement, migration, testing, cutover, and support post-go-live.
• Develop functional specifications, process documents, test scripts, training content, and user manuals.
• Collaborate with SAP functional, technical, and integration teams, as well as external vendors to enable enhancements and address complex issues.
• Deliver functional support for incidents, service requests, system faults, and business process challenges.
• Assist financial and management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, profitability assessments, and business performance monitoring.
• Govern finance master data such as chart of accounts, cost centres, profit centres, internal orders, and asset master data.
• Uphold compliance with internal controls, audit policies, IFRS, corporate standards, cybersecurity, and regulatory mandates.
• Conduct trainings, workshops, and knowledge transfers to enhance user competence and adoption of SAP Finance.
• Identify and implement enhancements to financial processes including automation, system optimization, control strengthening, and support for digital transformation initiatives.

Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, IT, or related disciplines.
• Preferably certified in SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules.

Experience Requirements

• At least 8 years of hands-on experience managing SAP FI/CO projects including implementation, support, enhancements, and optimization.
• Strong familiarity with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA Finance, and modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Controlling, Profitability Analysis, Treasury, and Financial Reporting.
• Good understanding of related SAP modules including MM, SD, PP, QM, HR, PM, BW and integration points.

Skills

• In-depth knowledge of SAP FI/CO and SAP S/4HANA Finance including financial processes and system integrations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with stakeholder engagement and business process improvement experience.
• Capability in testing, documentation, and coordinating across both technical and non-technical teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Relevant SAP FI/CO or S/4HANA certifications are an advantage.
• Experience with SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and cross-module integrations is preferred.
