Lead Structural Engineer

Overview

The Lead Structural Engineer will oversee structural and foundation design processes, perform technical analyses, and resolve engineering challenges while supervising the preparation of structural drawings coordinated with architectural and MEP disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the entire structural design workflow, including concept development, calculation verification, and creation of detailed construction drawings across various building projects.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to structural engineering teams to uphold industry standards and best engineering practices.
• Collaborate extensively with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure structural components integrate smoothly into broader project designs.
• Utilize advanced structural analysis software to assess building stability and performance under diverse load conditions.
• Review and approve all structural drawings, specifications, and construction documentation to guarantee conformity with applicable regulations.
• Coordinate engineering tasks, manage schedules and budgets to fulfill project timelines and meet client demands.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, address technical challenges, and confirm adherence to design specifications.
• Recommend innovative and efficient structural solutions to enhance project effectiveness, cost, and sustainability.
• Serve as a technical bridge among structural teams and other project disciplines, promoting clear communication and coordination.
• Remain informed about new developments, technologies, and leading practices in structural engineering to foster continuous team improvement and innovation.
• Contribute to health, safety, and environmental programs by participating in safety activities, incident reporting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and IMS standards.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in STAAD structural analysis software.
• Comprehensive expertise in structural engineering for buildings, heavy civil, and infrastructure projects.
• Experienced in preparing detailed structural reports, designs, and drawings.
• Possesses deep knowledge of facade engineering, including structural analysis and element design across major construction materials.
• Familiar with project management principles.
• Demonstrated practical skills in structural design and construction methods.
• Skilled in AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software.
• Extensive experience working on multidisciplinary building envelope projects.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP functional skills, is advantageous.

Experience & Education

• Minimum of eight years of professional experience in structural engineering.
• At least five years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Engineering related field.
