About the Role
The Lead Engineer, Electrical role is integral to strengthening the dependability, integrity, and effectiveness of electrical assets across the MWSPC facilities. This position champions reliability-centered maintenance tactics designed to enhance equipment uptime, minimize risk, and maximize the long-term value of assets.
By integrating expert technical knowledge with operational needs, the role advances sustainable enhancements in asset operation through proactive reliability management, failure analysis, and risk-informed decisions. The job serves as the go-to authority for electrical reliability, promoting maintenance excellence, asset longevity, and adherence to engineering and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives to enhance the availability and performance of electrical assets by applying reliability strategies.
- Identify and eliminate repetitive equipment failures through comprehensive reliability analysis.
- Fortify asset integrity via robust maintenance and technical assurance measures.
- Track asset condition and pinpoint reliability risks before they impact operations.
- Enhance the lifecycle performance of critical electrical equipment and systems.
- Develop and refine reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.
- Analyze failure trends and introduce sustainable reliability improvements.
- Review and oversee Management of Change (MOC) procedures impacting electrical assets.
- Ensure maintenance plans align with operational demands and engineering criteria.
- Apply predictive and condition-based maintenance techniques to bolster equipment functionality.
- Provide subject-matter expertise for resolving complex electrical issues and equipment malfunctions.
- Support troubleshooting and mitigate critical operational reliability problems.
- Drive continuous enhancements to boost equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
- Assist with commissioning, site acceptance testing, and readiness of newly installed electrical assets.
- Identify opportunities for maintenance process improvements and cost reductions.
- Ensure all electrical reliability activities comply with relevant standards and safety protocols.
- Promote safety-conscious work practices and enforce engineering controls effectively.
- Monitor reliability metrics and lead corrective initiatives as needed.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and up-to-date maintenance records.
- Prepare for audits and maintain compliance with corporate and regulatory mandates.
- Foster cooperation among E&I Support, Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering departments.
- Provide leadership in reliability advancements and asset management programs.
- Mentor engineers and technical staff in reliability methodologies and industry best practices.
- Encourage knowledge exchange and standard adoption within the organization.
- Enhance cross-functional collaboration to improve plant operations and reliability outcomes.
- Oversee electrical reliability and maintenance budget creation and management.
- Evaluate CAPEX and OPEX for reliability-enhancing projects and investments.
- Deliver insights to support decision-making in maintenance and asset management.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Certification such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification is advantageous.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in electrical maintenance, reliability engineering, or asset management roles.
- Background in mining, fertilizer, petrochemical, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Proven track record of leading reliability improvement and cross-disciplinary technical projects.
- Experience conducting root cause investigations and executing corrective actions.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and power distribution infrastructure.
- Proficient in applying Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Expertise in managing electrical asset integrity and lifecycle performance.
