MES Process Engineer

Job Overview

The MES Process Engineer at Takeda plays a critical role in supporting quality-driven and efficient manufacturing processes, focusing on the Werum MES system and its interaction with supporting technologies. This position involves technical leadership within MES projects and providing day-to-day MES operational support, alongside training initiatives aimed at expanding MES expertise within the manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead on MES projects, including electronic batch records (EBRs), Data Historian, and SAP integration activities.
• Collaborate proactively with cross-functional departments and project teams to develop MES workflows, EBR implementations, and integration strategies.
• Deliver technical support to manufacturing to optimize MES system use and uptime.
• Lead configuration and authoring of electronic manufacturing batch records (e-MBR) and manage general MES setup consistent with existing business processes.
• Develop and maintain all relevant project documentation such as designs, configuration guides, procedures, and test plans.
• Support validation efforts including writing test scripts and coordinating with validation teams for all qualification stages.
• Communicate project progress and status updates to management and project teams regularly.
• Conduct feasibility studies and field testing related to MES systems and processes.
• Manage MES vendor relationships and coordinate with technical consultants.
• Develop and maintain SOPs related to MES and conduct training to enhance users' proficiency in system utilization.
• Help cross-train department members to broaden MES operational knowledge and support capabilities.
• Participate in on-call and call-out support as required.
• Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), health & safety, and environmental legislation at all times.
• Prepare accurate and timely documentation including SOPs, logbooks, and EHS records, as well as reports on deviations or investigations as needed.
• Support corporate values and safety culture initiatives within the workplace.

Education

Candidates must hold a third level degree in a science discipline or an equivalent qualification.

Experience and Skills

• In-depth expertise in MES systems, particularly Werum PAS-X.
• Familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proven capability in producing IT-related process documentation.
• Project management skills with effective interpersonal communication.
• Aptitude for IT and MES applications.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in team settings.
• Self-motivated with a focus on fostering positive business relationships.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is approximately €57,800 to €79,420 annually. The final offer depends on candidate qualifications, relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
