Job description

Overview

This position at Takeda is responsible for leading market access initiatives to secure formulary inclusion and favorable positioning of Takeda's pharmaceutical products. The role includes engaging key local decision makers and influencers, aligning with regional business plans, and coordinating with various stakeholders to optimize market access.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive efforts to achieve formulary access and preference status for Takeda's portfolio.
  • Support successful win-win agreements with customers to enhance product positioning and maximize profits.
  • Collaborate with regional stakeholders, including health authorities, to implement strategies securing or improving market access.
  • Represent Takeda's strategic policies while working closely with field force colleagues and other company departments.
  • Monitor and report on market access trends, events, and competitive landscape to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Manage tender channel opportunities, supporting commercial leads with submissions and strategy.
  • Contribute to business modeling including pricing, forecasting, budgeting, aimed at supporting future growth.
  • Engage with stakeholders to identify local market access opportunities and shape pricing strategies.
  • Develop local value propositions and manage related stakeholder events effectively.

Specific Duties

  • Localize global market access strategies and develop access tools such as value dossiers, economic models, and framework documents.
  • Engage with customers to negotiate agreements that promote both sales growth and profitability.
  • Lead internal and external meetings and conferences representing Takeda’s market access interests.
  • Handle contract management and customer order processing in alignment with access objectives.
  • Drive innovation and change by implementing best practices and new market access initiatives.
  • Support new product launches by assisting with pricing and access strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with pricing governance, financial forecasting, and adherence to pricing corridors.

Education and Experience

  • University degree preferably in Pharmaceutical or Social Sciences.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent.
  • External candidates should have a minimum of 5 years pharmaceutical experience including 2 years in a market access role.

Skills and Behavioral Competencies

  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare and reimbursement systems in the related business area or country.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution abilities.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of tender and pricing systems within the industry.
  • Experienced in tender and hospital pharmaceutical business environment.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills enabling win-win agreements.
  • Capability to build strong partnerships with key accounts including purchasing committees and finance departments.
  • Market intelligence gathering to anticipate business impacts and develop proactive strategies.
  • Commercial acumen and familiarity with tender legislation.
  • Ethical business conduct aligned to company policies and relevant industry codes.

Additional Information

  • Approximately 20% travel required for this role.
  • Position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
  • Role is full-time and onsite as a regular employee.
