Lead – Azure & Technical Operations

Overview

We seek a seasoned Operations Lead to manage the daily technical operations of a robust cloud-based digital platform. The position involves ensuring exceptional availability, reliability, security, performance, and scalability, while overseeing a team of technical operations and support staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the technical platform to guarantee continuous availability and robust performance.
• Lead, guide, and develop the technical operations and support teams.
• Oversee and enhance cloud infrastructure and resources within Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud environments, focusing on optimization, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Implement and govern procedures for incident, problem, change, and service management.
• Lead efforts for rapid response and resolution during critical incidents and system interruptions.
• Create and uphold disaster recovery strategies, business continuity plans, and emergency response protocols.
• Plan capacity to ensure infrastructure aligns with evolving business needs and scales appropriately.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to maintain rigorous security standards and controls.
• Identify operational hazards and formulate strategies for mitigation and remediation.
• Manage relationships and engagements with third-party vendors, technology partners, and service providers.
• Champion automation and process enhancements employing DevOps methodologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation including operational workflows, architectural details, and runbooks.
• Define, track, and report on key operational metrics such as KPIs, SLAs, system availability, and performance indicators.
• Generate regular operational reports, highlighting risks, challenges, and performance insights to senior leadership.
• Support budgeting activities including forecasting and expense monitoring related to operations.
• Promote adoption of ITIL and service management best practices across teams.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, solution architecture, project management, security, and business units on key projects.
• Continuously seek improvements to enhance operational reliability, efficiency, and scalability.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in technical operations or related domains, with demonstrated leadership roles.
• Substantial expertise in Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) administration.
• Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including networking, computing resources, storage, and security considerations.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps methodologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementations.
• Proven track record in managing incident, problem, change, and service management processes.
• Experience overseeing critical, high-availability production ecosystems.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and system resilience approaches.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, cloud security frameworks, compliance requirements, and operational risk management.
• Skills in technical monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting complex systems.
• Track record of effective technical team leadership and multi-priority management.
• Experience handling vendor management and third-party services.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving enterprise technology setting.
