Laundry Attendant

About the Role

The Laundry Attendant will be responsible for operating and overseeing the washing, dry cleaning, and drying equipment. Key tasks include adding necessary chemicals, cleaning lint traps, and identifying laundry items needing repair, spot cleaning, rewash, or disposal. The role involves inspecting the cleanliness of items after washing or dry cleaning and placing them into clean linen carts. The attendant will also set dryers appropriately according to fabric types, clean dryer screens and filters regularly, and fold laundered items by hand or using machinery while maintaining accurate records of laundered items.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate washing, dry cleaning, and drying machines, ensuring proper chemical usage and maintenance.
• Identify stains, damage, or items requiring further treatment or disposal.
• Inspect laundered articles for cleanliness and sort appropriately.
• Configure dryers to correct settings based on fabric composition.
• Remove lint and debris from drying components after each cycle to maintain machine efficiency.
• Fold cleaned linen to designated sizes, manually or with machinery.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records related to laundered items.
• Comply with safety and security policies, report accidents or hazards, and complete necessary safety training.
• Adhere to company standards regarding personal appearance and confidentiality.
• Work cooperatively with colleagues to meet team and organizational goals.
• Help identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency, quality, safety, and cost savings.
• Perform visual inspections of tools and equipment to check for defects.
• Physically capable to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; move or lift objects up to 25 pounds; navigate confined or elevated spaces, uneven surfaces, stairs, and ramps; and perform bending, twisting, and pulling motions.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications & Experience

• No high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• No previous related work experience necessary.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No licenses or certifications are required for this position.

Additional Information

Location: The St. Regis Residence, Marsa Arabia Island, Doha, Qatar.
Schedule: Full-time, Non-management position.
The position is onsite and not remote.
