Job Overview

Athens Health and Rehabilitation seeks a dedicated Laundry Assistant for full-time day shifts to play a vital role in supporting long-term care residents by ensuring fresh, clean linens and clothing. This role is key to maintaining the comfort, dignity, and cleanliness for residents in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform washing, drying, folding, and distribution of resident garments and facility linens.
  • Efficiently sort laundry before processing to ensure appropriate handling.
  • Handle residents' personal clothing carefully, ensuring they are properly returned.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of clean linens throughout the facility.
  • Adhere strictly to laundry, sanitation, and infection control protocols.
  • Operate laundry machines safely and maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
  • Report any damaged equipment or safety issues promptly.
  • Assist environmental services and housekeeping teams as needed.
  • Comply with facility policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Reliable, industrious, and a team player with meticulous attention to cleanliness and detail.
  • Capable of managing tasks independently while staying organized.
  • Effective at following both written and spoken instructions.
  • Displays patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive demeanor, particularly towards elderly and disabled residents.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
  • Physically able to meet the essential demands of the job.
  • Prior experience in laundry, housekeeping, environmental services, or long-term care is advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay ranges from $11.40 to $15.40 per hour, determined by experience.
