Work Schedule and Compensation

This is a full-time position during day hours with a starting wage of $13.65 per hour, paid weekly.

Key Responsibilities

• Fold and organize clothing items efficiently
• Hang garments on racks labeled with patient names and numbers
• Ensure patient clothes are clean, ready to wear, and note any damage appropriately
• Identify the proper use of various soaps and bleaches, adhering closely to safety guidelines
• Operate washers and dryers to clean clothing and linens
• Maintain cleanliness of laundry equipment and follow scheduled cleaning routines
• Sweep and mop the laundry workspace to keep it sanitary
• Empty washers and dryers as needed
• Clean and disinfect linen carts upon request
• Handle stain removal tasks
• Demonstrate servant leadership to uphold the organization's positive reputation
• Participate in committees, projects, and collaborative initiatives
• Carry out any additional duties required to support overall organizational success

Required Skills and Abilities

• Effective communication with colleagues, patients, families, and visitors, showing a friendly and approachable manner
• Respond to concerns empathetically and professionally
• Comfortable reading and understanding safety protocols, operating manuals, and procedural documents
• Ability to prepare routine written reports and correspondences
• Speak effectively in small group settings including customers and coworkers
• Mathematical ability to perform basic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Problem-solving skills to handle instructions and address issues within standardized scenarios
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

Education and Qualifications

A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is preferred. No supervisory responsibilities are associated with this position.

Physical Requirements
