Job Overview

The Landscaper will be responsible for preserving and enhancing the company's outdoor spaces, which include gardens, lawns, trees, flower beds, and overall landscaped areas to ensure the premises remain attractive, clean, safe, and orderly.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of lawns, gardens, flower beds, shrubs, and trees across company locations.
• Mow, trim, and upkeep grass areas to maintain a neat appearance.
• Prune various plants to encourage healthy growth and tidy aesthetics.
• Plant suitable vegetation such as flowers, trees, and grass as directed.
• Prepare planting zones by digging, leveling, improving soil fertility with approved manure or fertilisers.
• Remove weeds, excess vegetation, and overgrowth from specified areas.
• Maintain edges of gardens, paths, and landscaped zones clean and orderly.
• Assist in developing new gardens, lawns, and landscaped plots.
• Identify landscaping areas needing improvement and report findings to supervisors.
• Water lawns, plants, and trees as necessary while monitoring for pests, diseases, and damage.
• Remove or replace dead or unhealthy plant life upon instruction.
• Apply approved fertilisers, manures, and treatments; apply pesticides and herbicides strictly under authorization following safety guidelines.
• Handle, store, and dispose of chemicals safely per company procedures.
• Operate landscaping machinery and tools such as lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, brush cutters, wheelbarrows, spades, and rakes.
• Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment; report any defects or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Store equipment safely after use and adhere to operational instructions.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling machinery or chemicals.
• Collect and dispose of garden waste like cuttings, leaves, branches in designated areas complying with disposal protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness around landscaped zones, walkways, and facilities; ensure garden waste does not obstruct drainage or access paths.
• Support outdoor cleaning tasks as needed and uphold high standards of housekeeping within assigned areas.
• Comply with all health, safety, and environmental standards set by the company.
• Report hazards, accidents, injuries, equipment damages, or environmental incidents promptly.
• Exercise caution near vehicles, machinery, electrical setups, and production areas to prevent accidents.
• Refrain from unauthorized use of company equipment or chemicals.
• Contribute to environmental and cleanliness initiatives supported by the company.
• Perform any additional duties reasonably assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a diploma or degree in landscaping, horticulture, agriculture, gardening, or a closely related discipline is advantageous.
• Between 1 and 5 years' practical experience in landscaping, gardening, horticulture, or grounds maintenance is required.
• Familiarity with operating lawn mowers, brush cutters, and hedge trimmers is a plus.
• Experience maintaining extensive commercial, industrial, institutional, or residential grounds is preferred.
