Key Responsibilities

• Verify the accuracy of elevations, staking out, and other surveying work completed by contractors.
• Provide technical recommendations and advice to the Resident Engineer regarding construction surveys.
• Maintain construction survey records and quantity data following instructions from the Resident Engineer.
• Conduct initial baseline and control surveys, establish benchmarks, and recover existing survey monuments slated for removal as directed.
• Respond to contractors' survey-related requests, including verifying the staking out of centerlines, structures, and slope stakes.
• Review field measurement surveys such as original and final cross sections; verify critical elevations, structural dimensions and locations, earthwork grading, pavements, and associated elements; scrutinize contractors’ detailed surveys prior to construction; and resolve discrepancies.
• Participate in developing standardized formats and procedures for calculating and documenting quantities.
• Engage in calibration and verification of survey instruments.
• Oversee implementation of safety protocols to meet project safety objectives.
• Ensure quality standards are achieved during project execution, particularly for roadworks, and monitor adherence to quality procedures.
• Collaborate with Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, and inspectors on as-built reviews and project finalization.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Surveying or Civil Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in land and highway surveying on major road, highway, or infrastructure projects, preferably within the Gulf region.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and related specifications, enforce compliance effectively.
• Prefer candidates residing in or available within the United Arab Emirates.
• Strong computer proficiency with capability to use technology for data access, record keeping, report generation, and relevant engineering/construction software such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate effectively within project teams.
