Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will play a crucial role representing Tesco directly to customers at their homes. The position involves much more than just driving; it requires a commitment to providing excellent service with a positive attitude. This job is physically engaging, hands-on, and offers wide variety in daily tasks, with little repetition between shifts. While much of your work will be independent, you will remain supported by a strong team of managers and colleagues at the base.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the van, trays, and work environment ensuring customers receive orders in the best condition.
• Load the van safely, performing all necessary checks to guarantee the vehicle's roadworthiness and readiness for deliveries.
• Engage with customers by explaining any order modifications such as substitutions or short-dated items, handling refunds professionally to ensure a smooth customer experience.
• Handle products carefully, treating each order with attention to maintain high quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver orders punctually within allocated timeslots, providing warm and sincere service that leaves customers feeling valued and well-cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues fostering team spirit and enhancing customer service quality.
• Possess a friendly, approachable demeanor when interacting with customers and team members.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and welcome changes during deliveries and in-store activities.
• Hold a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for a minimum of 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
