The City of Canterbury Bankstown (CBCity) boasts one of the most diverse communities in New South Wales, serving over 380,000 residents. As a leading local council, CBCity delivers 28 essential services including childcare, waste management, park upkeep, libraries, community venues, and aquatic centers.
Role Overview
We invite a motivated individual to join our team as a Labourer. In this position, you will collaborate with a team that focuses on road construction and maintenance, alongside footpath and kerb upkeep. This is a permanent, full-time role based onsite.
Responsibilities
- Perform labour duties related to road construction and maintenance.
- Assist with the construction and maintenance of footpaths, kerbs, and gutters.
- Engage in drainage-related construction and upkeep tasks.
- Operate basic machinery and plant equipment safely and effectively.
- Clear rubbish and debris from work sites.
- Enhance productivity by applying up-to-date industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of tasks performed as directed by supervisors.
- Participate in on-the-job training and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Possession of a current Class C Driver's Licence.
- Valid White Card for Work Health and Safety.
- Proven experience in construction, particularly concrete work.
- Skill in laying concrete surfaces.
- Familiarity with general civil construction and road works operations.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary is $58,761 (Grade A, Step 1), with additional allowances such as AWACA and 12% superannuation. Salary may be adjusted based on experience and qualifications.
