  • Conduct inspections of Council’s public tree assets to assess their health, condition, and maintenance needs.
  • Investigate and report on accidents or damage involving street, park, or council trees.
  • Update and maintain the Council’s Tree Asset Register with pertinent information.
  • Provide expert advice and assistance to community members, staff, and Council on tree management issues.

  • Valid Class ‘C’ Driver’s Licence.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in tree management or a related discipline.
  • Experience managing and supervising contracts, particularly within tree management.
  • Competency in performing visual tree assessments, interpreting data, and offering advice on short, medium, and long-term tree management strategies.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Report writing expertise specific to tree management.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting salary from $97,327 annually, plus car allowance and 12% superannuation, negotiable based on skills and experience.
  • Accrued Time Off program supporting work-life balance.
  • Permanent full-time employment under Local Government conditions, including long service leave after five years, annual salary increases, and generous parental leave options.
  • Opportunities to contribute positively to the community.
  • Professional development fostering continuous learning and growth.
  • Access to employee health and wellbeing programs.
