Job description
Position Overview
The KST Executive is responsible for leading and supporting stewards to enhance cleaning efficiency within the kitchen and banquet areas. This includes managing and monitoring water temperature and chemical levels for cleaning processes, assisting with banquet plate-ups, supporting kitchen staff, and ensuring timely supply and transportation of banquet and buffet items. The role also involves maintaining cleaning equipment and tools such as dishwashing machines and trash compactors.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and aid stewards to optimize cleanup operations.
- Verify and document appropriate water temperature and chemical usage during cleaning.
- Support banquet plate setups and assist cooks and kitchen personnel.
- Ensure adequate stock for banquets and buffets by transporting needed items.
- Return cleaned items to their designated storage locations.
- Operate and maintain various cleaning tools and machinery.
- Assist management with staff-related tasks including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, disciplining, coaching, and motivating employees.
- Adhere strictly to company safety and security protocols; report accidents or unsafe conditions promptly.
- Maintain professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of company information.
- Greet guests courteously and anticipate their service needs according to company standards.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Foster teamwork and positive workplace relationships to achieve shared goals.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Physically perform job duties including lifting weights up to 50 pounds, standing/walking for long periods, and handling varied physical movements.
- Work on uneven or slippery surfaces as required.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum education requirement is a High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least two years of related work experience in food and beverage or culinary support roles.
- Minimum of one year experience in a supervisory capacity.
- No specific licenses or certifications required.
