Job description
Job Overview
The IT Assistant position involves planning and coordinating the installation, relocation, upgrading, and maintenance of IT equipment to enhance system performance and reliability. The role includes operating computer and peripheral devices, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, particularly those affecting guest room internet access, and recommending process improvements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee IT-related equipment installations, moves, and system enhancements.
- Operate and control computer equipment and peripheral devices.
- Address and resolve complex hardware, software, or network access issues.
- Maintain and manage an inventory of technology devices.
- Maintain PBX and telephone switchboard hardware systems.
- Ensure security protocols for computer and telephone rooms are followed, including restricting access through secure key systems.
- Adhere to company policies, report any accidents or unsafe conditions, and complete safety training.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Deliver excellent guest service, communicate clearly and professionally, and answer telephones courteously.
- Support compliance with company and external regulations and serve as a departmental role model and mentor.
- Foster positive working relationships, assist teammates in achieving shared objectives, and respond effectively to employee concerns.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained, recommend efficiency improvements, and perform visual inspections of tools and equipment.
- Handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance and use computer or POS systems for data entry.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: No requirement for a high school diploma or GED.
- Experience: Minimum of one year in a related field.
- Supervision: No prior supervisory experience required.
- Licenses/Certifications: None required.
