Position Overview

As a Polisher based at St. Regis Hotels & Resorts in Dubai, you will respond to guest repair requests and handle preventative maintenance of tools and kitchen and mechanical equipment. Your role includes performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks across various systems such as air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components. You'll also be responsible for surface preparation, painting, drywall repairs, changing light bulbs and filters, and maintaining both interior and exterior landscaping.

Key Responsibilities

• Address guest maintenance needs promptly and maintain clear communication to resolve issues.
• Conduct routine preventive care on tools and machinery including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect equipment and operate utility shut-off valves appropriately.
• Maintain inventory for maintenance supplies and reorder as necessary.
• Communicate daily maintenance activities and challenges to other shifts using standard protocols.
• Apply skills in various maintenance disciplines including carpentry, pneumatic and electronic systems, and kitchen equipment maintenance.
• Perform painting, minor repairs, and thorough cleanup in assigned areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing and electrical appliances including vacuum cleaners, lamps, switches, and internet devices.
• Use safety procedures such as Lockout/Tagout systems before maintenance work.
• Maintain exterior landscaping, including sprinkler system repairs.
• Utilize basic computer skills for scheduling air handlers and adjusting temperatures.
• Adhere strictly to company safety and confidentiality policies and maintain a professional appearance.
• Assist and communicate effectively with guests, including aiding those with disabilities.
• Support the team to achieve common goals and listen attentively to coworkers.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, and maneuvering safely around the property.
• Complete other duties as assigned to support hotel operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior experience in general maintenance and surface preparation work preferred.
• Experience within hotel engineering or maintenance environments is advantageous.
• Valid driver's license required.
• No supervisory experience is needed.
