Job description
Position Overview
The role involves leading and supporting kitchen stewards to enhance the efficiency of cleaning operations. Responsibilities include ensuring proper water temperature and chemical levels are maintained and documented for cleaning purposes, assisting with banquet plate setups, and supporting kitchen staff, including cooks, by providing necessary items and aiding in various tasks.
Job Duties
- Oversee and assist stewards to optimize clean-up processes.
- Maintain and document correct water temperatures and chemical concentrations used in cleaning.
- Help with banquet plate ups and support kitchen staff with different assignments.
- Manage stock and transport supplies for banquet and buffet services.
- Return cleaned dishes and utensils to their appropriate storage areas.
- Operate and take care of cleaning equipment like dishwashing machines, hand wash and pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Comply with all company safety and security policies, report any accidents or unsafe conditions, and complete required safety trainings.
- Maintain a professional and clean appearance, safeguard proprietary information and company assets.
- Greet guests politely and anticipate their service needs.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and guests.
- Develop positive working relationships and collaborate to meet team goals.
- Adhere to quality standards and expectations.
- Perform physical tasks such as moving objects under 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended times, and navigating various surfaces.
- Undertake additional reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
- At least one year of experience supervising others.
- No licenses or certifications required.
