Kitchen Steward - The Abu Dhabi EDITION

Position Overview

The Kitchen Steward role at The Abu Dhabi EDITION involves operating and maintaining various cleaning tools and equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors. The candidate will be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting kitchen and storeroom areas, washing tables, tools, knives, and equipment thoroughly.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive deliveries and properly store perishables while managing stock rotation.
• Clean dishes using detergents and sanitizers in a 3-compartment sink, inspect cleaned items, and return soiled items for re-washing as needed.
• Manage washing and re-washing of silverware, break down dirty bus tubs, and maintain trashcans and dumpsters.
• Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned and mopped regularly, dispose of glass safely, and segregate recyclables including cardboard boxes.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, report any maintenance or safety issues.
• Communicate professionally and foster positive teamwork to achieve shared goals.
• Lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance; remain standing, sitting or walking for extended durations; perform physical movements such as bending, twisting, reaching overhead, stooping, and pulling.
• Perform additional reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• No formal education such as high school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• No prior related work or supervisory experience is necessary.
• No licenses or certifications are required.
