Job description
Overview
Join our reputable Catholic day school located near Ascot that caters daily for over 460 students and staff, providing Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Monday to Friday. We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to become a valued member of our friendly team, contributing significantly to maintaining the kitchen's cleanliness, safety, and excellent hygiene standards.
Key Duties
- Perform pot washing and general kitchen cleaning duties to maintain high standards of hygiene.
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
- Clean and service all kitchen equipment, including heavy catering machinery such as air filters and extraction systems, following specific cleaning instructions.
- Operate industrial dishwashers efficiently and safely.
- Ensure continuous upkeep of cleanliness and safety standards within the kitchen environment.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in kitchen porter or pot wash roles is advantageous but not essential.
- Positive and proactive 'can do' attitude with strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- Experience in customer service or food preparation environments preferred.
