About the Role
Located in Edgbaston, Birmingham, Thomas Franks Ltd operates an independent day school catering service for approximately 1250 students and staff daily. The catering department offers breakfast, lunch, match teas, and hospitality, supported by free onsite parking. We are seeking a Kitchen Porter to join this well-established, friendly team at our prestigious Edgbaston site. This permanent, full-time position involves working hours Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with 40 hours per week and overtime opportunities available.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and safety at all times.
- Clean and operate all kitchen equipment, including heavy catering machinery following specified instructions and cleaning materials.
- Use the industrial dishwasher efficiently.
- Assist chefs with food preparation tasks as needed.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Prior kitchen porter or pot wash experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong team player with excellent customer service aptitude.
- Organized individual with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- Experience in food preparation or customer service settings preferred.
