Role Overview

We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our Application Support team. This opportunity is ideal for entry-level individuals or junior professionals passionate about building a career in software engineering. You will be responsible for assisting in maintaining business-critical applications, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with development and support teams to ensure consistent application performance and uptime.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide continuous support for applications and resolve production issues promptly.
• Monitor application performance metrics to guarantee system availability.
• Investigate and solve technical incidents and respond to service requests effectively.
• Assist in deploying application fixes and enhancements.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business stakeholders, and support teams to devise effective solutions.
• Perform debugging activities, root cause analyses, and issue resolutions.
• Document technical processes and maintain up-to-date records.
• Engage in continuous improvement projects and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Adhere to established support protocols and industry best practices.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Proficient understanding of Java programming language (mandatory).
• Familiarity with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Basic SQL knowledge and experience with application troubleshooting.
• Understanding of REST API concepts.
• Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within teams.
• Demonstrated eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Some experience or exposure to Python programming.
• Basic proficiency in Shell Scripting.
• Familiar with using Jupyter Notebook.
• Background in application support through employment, internships, or academic projects.

Academic Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Approximately 1 to 2 years of combined experience from software engineering roles, application support, internships, or relevant projects.
• Recent graduates demonstrating strong academic projects and internships involving Java technologies are encouraged to apply.
