Position Overview
The Junior Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Maintenance Assistant is responsible for aiding in equipment upkeep and supporting aircraft maintenance by provisioning necessary equipment following established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Report any obstacles or problems encountered during work activities to the supervisor or team leader promptly.
- Assist in organizing aircraft maintenance support equipment as directed.
- Support daily inspections of all equipment following instructions given by supervisors or team leaders.
- Help supply aircraft access equipment based on supervisor guidance.
- Participate in maintenance and repair work on equipment under supervision.
- Relay customer requests or questions clearly and accurately to supervisors or team leaders.
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas and responsibly care for all tools and equipment.
- Follow task instructions, work allocations, and duty schedules diligently.
- Prioritize safe working practices, seeking assistance or clarity when uncertain.
- Communicate completion or pending status of tasks effectively to supervisors or team leaders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of 10 years of schooling or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of one year experience in engineering or a related field.
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, or general engineering and maintenance processes is preferred.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Working Conditions and Safety Considerations
- Work entails exposure to heights and performing tasks in confined spaces.
- Handling hazardous energy systems and dangerous goods is required.
- Tasks include heavy lifting and working in noisy and hot environments.
- Exposure to moving or falling objects, pressurized substances, and sharp protrusions is expected.
- Operation of motorized mobile equipment and possession of an airport driving permit are necessary.
- Potential contact with contamination materials including humans, animals, and chemicals occurs.
