Known for its quality and service, the Timaru branch is looking for a Workshop Assistant to support its Automotive Technicians and the broader workshop team.
Role Overview
This position is ideal for a practical, hands-on individual who values contributing to a smoothly running workshop environment. As a Workshop Assistant, you'll assist experienced technicians with vehicle servicing, repairs, and various workshop duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Automotive Technicians with servicing, repairs, and general workshop tasks.
- Install vehicle accessories such as lighting, cameras, electronic GPS/Hubos, and related components.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient workshop environment.
- Support the team by performing daily workshop duties as necessary.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures at all times.
- Identify and report any hazards, risks, or unsafe conditions promptly.
- Maintain a professional and cooperative attitude with both colleagues and customers.
Candidate Requirements
- Formal automotive experience is not mandatory; reliability and eagerness to learn are key.
- A self-driven and proactive work approach.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on tasks.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Enthusiasm for acquiring new skills and supporting the workshop team.
- Possession of a clean, full New Zealand driver's license is preferred.
