Position Summary
The Job Developer role is central in supporting residents' successful employment integration in the community. This position involves assessing residents, coordinating and supervising their job search efforts, ensuring compliance with surveillance requirements, and delivering both individual and group readiness training aligned with contract and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all duties associated with entry-level monitoring as needed.
- Provide employment orientations to new residents, evaluating their needs to align them with suitable job opportunities.
- Assist residents in securing essential identification and work authorization documents to satisfy employer eligibility.
- Engage with prospective employers and employment services via phone, mail, and in person to explain program objectives and secure job placements; maintain an up-to-date list of job opportunities and establish referral networks.
- Collaborate with residents to develop realistic and actionable job search plans.
- Lead weekly group sessions educating unemployed residents on job search tactics such as application completion, resume crafting, and interview skills to improve their employability.
- Track resident earnings through pay stub reviews to confirm ongoing employment and hours worked; conduct on-site job inspections when contractually mandated.
- Create and sustain a job bank and referral resources for vocational training and community support materials.
- Develop partnerships with governmental and federal program administrators to connect residents with training and educational opportunities, including subsidized programs.
- Verify residents' itineraries, employment, and educational attendance in accordance with contractual obligations to ensure compliance and performance tracking.
- Document employment and educational progress in resident files to enable monitoring and tailored support.
- Maintain or exceed established employment targets to boost resident morale and self-esteem through sustained employment.
- Administer disciplinary measures for violations consistently with procedural guidelines and contractual requirements.
- Participate actively in staff meetings to foster collaboration, problem-solving, and unified teamwork.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information about employees, residents, vendors, and agencies.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, responding constructively to managerial directives.
- Abide by attendance policies and work overtime as necessary to ensure operational coverage, resident safety, and program success.
- Uphold workplace safety standards and promptly address safety concerns to prevent injury or incidents.
- Communicate effectively across all organizational levels to promote a cooperative and positive work environment.
- Perform additional related duties as requested.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent plus at least one year of related experience; a bachelor's degree can substitute for prior experience.
- Working knowledge of local workforce demands and familiarity with public and private employment agencies/services.
- Valid driver's license and insurability under the company’s insurance policy.
- Strong instructional and teaching abilities.
- Capability to build and maintain positive relationships within the community.
- Ability to engage effectively with residents and staff, fostering motivation and work ethic.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with proper grammar usage.
- Adaptability and willingness to undertake a diverse array of responsibilities.
- Proficiency in computer usage and relevant departmental software.
