Java/Spring Backend Developer

Project Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Java Developer with expertise in DevOps and infrastructure to participate in a Data Centre Migration initiative for a prominent banking client.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and support Java applications and microservices leveraging Spring Boot.
• Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks.
• Adhere to security best practices across all phases of development and deployment.
• Diagnose and fix issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Work closely with software engineers, QA teams, and product stakeholders to ensure delivery of robust solutions.
• Keep updated with the latest trends and best practices in Java development and DevOps methodologies.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 7 years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong command of backend Java development including Microservices architecture, Spring Boot framework, Collections API, low latency systems, multithreading, and concurrency.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure and DevOps principles.
• Familiarity with deployment lifecycle, including deploying code to servers.
• Knowledge of server connectivity and management.
• Basic system resource management covering RAM and CPU allocation.
• Hands-on experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes and Podman.
• Expertise in creating pipelines and managing CI/CD workflows.
• Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud services.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in the banking industry.
• Exposure to financial markets and development on trading platforms.
