Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with deep expertise in Java programming, container technologies such as Kubernetes and Openshift Container Platform, and strong solution architecture skills. The role is crucial for leading our replatforming efforts within the Java technology stack and ensuring high-quality, scalable software solutions particularly in the payments domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and review vendor-submitted code for quality, efficiency, and compliance with best practices.
• Provide comprehensive feedback and suggestions to improve code quality.
• Collaborate closely with vendors to resolve deficiencies and implement enhancements.
• Maintain and enforce organizational coding standards for vendor code.
• Develop and update formal code review guidelines and workflows.
• Engage with Business Analysts and Quality Engineers/testers to clarify requirements, aid in test automation, and facilitate bug fixes.
• Contribute to architectural discussions impacting system design.
• Coordinate with deployment and DevOps teams to set up CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and release processes.
• Review source code scan outputs and manage vendor remediation efforts.
• Participate actively in application deployments across multiple environments.
• Interface with stakeholders across business units to translate business needs into technical specifications for vendor development.
• Keep abreast of emerging Java technologies and industry trends to provide strategic technical recommendations.
• Continuously research technology innovations and advocate for beneficial improvements.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a technical lead handling the complete software development lifecycle including conception, architecture, design, planning, implementation, testing, documentation, delivery, and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns, and industry best practices.
• Practical experience designing reusable components, microservices, containerized applications, and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Proficient in Java, shell scripting, multiple operating systems, and databases, notably Oracle. Experience with other programming languages is advantageous.
• Proven involvement in DevOps practices and CI/CD implementation.
• Familiarity with OpenShift Container Platform is a plus.
• Knowledge of SWIFT architecture and systems is advantageous.
• Experience working with Singapore payment systems is preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as Java, AWS Solutions Architect, Kubernetes are a bonus.
• Understanding of change management and business process optimization is beneficial.
• Capable of working independently and thriving in a fast-evolving environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage stakeholders.
