Janitor/Driver - Full-Time Position

Job Overview

This role involves maintaining cleanliness and order within buildings, performing thorough cleaning tasks such as floor maintenance, rug shampooing, wall and glass washing, and rubbish removal. The position also requires driving responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and discard waste following established procedures and infection control guidelines.
• Perform daily cleaning in public areas including bathrooms, hallways, lobby, and storage spaces.
• Deliver linen and supplies to designated storage areas.
• Dust surfaces and perform damp mopping of floors adhering to approved methods.
• Relocate equipment and furniture for cleaning and restore them to their correct places.
• Utilize assigned cleaning materials and equipment to sanitize all surfaces in designated areas.
• Clean walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to ensure a safe, hygienic environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Identify and proactively address areas requiring cleaning.
• Conduct floor stripping, scrubbing, buffing, refinishing, and carpet shampooing tasks.
• Complete all duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possess a valid driver’s license accompanied by a clean driving record.
• Minimum of one year’s previous experience in janitorial work.
• WHMIS Certification is desirable.
• Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Physically capable of fulfilling all aspects of the role's duties.
• Submit to driving test on a Ford F150 Pickup truck as part of hiring process.
• Undergo and pass Drug & Alcohol Testing.
• Successfully clear a Criminal Record Check.
• Work an 11-hour day shift schedule.
• Follow a rotation pattern of 20 days on duty followed by 10 days off.

Compensation

This position offers an hourly wage of $19.25. The final pay will reflect the candidate’s skills, prior experience, relevant qualifications, and internal salary equity considerations. Compliance with applicable pay transparency laws is assured.
