Job Summary

As a Janitor at Farm Boy, you will be integral in maintaining the clean, safe, and inviting atmosphere our stores are recognized for. Your dedication to thoroughness and customer-focused attitude will support both shoppers and fellow team members by keeping common areas well-maintained and contributing to a positive in-store environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and engaging customer service aligned with Farm Boy’s fresh shopping commitment.
• Greet, welcome, and assist customers in accordance with the company’s service standards.
• Perform general housekeeping tasks including sweeping, mopping, and dusting to maintain clean and safe work and storage areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of shared spaces such as eating areas, restrooms, and locker rooms.
• Assist with inventory monitoring and ordering of store supplies when necessary.
• Adhere to all corporate policies focusing on Health & Safety, Food Safety, and proper equipment use.
• Complete required opening and closing procedures and provide support to team members as needed.
• Undertake additional periodic duties to support store operations.

Qualifications

• Passion for delivering exceptional and engaging customer service.
• Previous experience in janitorial or cleaning roles within food retail is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and organizational skills complemented by a team-oriented attitude.
• Comfort with fast-paced, hands-on work involving physical demands such as standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, repetitive movements, use of protective gear, and possible exposure to varying environmental conditions.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in English required; French language skills are considered a plus.
