About the Role

As the Lead Domain Architect for Enterprise Data and Information Architecture at Great Eastern, you will spearhead the development and evolution of the company’s comprehensive data foundation across multiple countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other affiliated entities. Your responsibilities will include designing future-state architectures, defining core principles, standards, and guardrails for all aspects of data management including models, flows, platforms, integration, metadata, lineage, quality control, accessibility, privacy, and governance-by-design strategies. This leadership position aims to resolve data fragmentation issues, inconsistencies, duplications, ambiguous ownership, and technical debt across organizational technology systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and advance the enterprise data and information architecture aligned with corporate strategy, regulatory demands, and modern technological practices.
  • Create enterprise data domain models, conceptual and logical data frameworks, standard data definitions, and canonical patterns for critical business entities.
  • Set architecture principles for authoritative data sources, golden records, data lifecycle management, ownership, and sharing protocols.
  • Address and remediate architectural challenges such as fragmented stores, duplicate flows, inconsistent data definitions, and unclear systems of record.
  • Design future-state architectures and roadmaps for data platforms including data lakes, warehouses, operational stores, and analytics infrastructures.
  • Define architecture patterns supporting batch, real-time, streaming, API-based, and event-driven data integration approaches.
  • Guide the creation of scalable, secure, reusable, and efficient data pipelines, products, services, and consumption models.
  • Collaborate with application, integration, cloud, infrastructure, security, and delivery teams to embed data architecture consistently in solutions.
  • Translate governance, privacy, compliance, security, and regulatory requirements into architecture standards, controls, and design patterns.
  • Develop architecture standards covering metadata management, lineage tracing, data quality, access controls, classification, retention, auditability, and system observability.
  • Work closely with risk, compliance, security, and data teams to ensure governance principles are integrated into systems and processes.
  • Provide architecture assurance for major initiatives involving data platforms, integration, analytics, regulatory and operational data, and AI-readiness.
  • Review and validate solution designs for adherence to enterprise data architecture principles, security, and governance standards.
  • Identify risks, gaps, technical debt, and recommend remediation in data-related projects.
  • Participate actively in the Architecture Review Board focusing on data and information architecture topics.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor architects, engineers, and data specialists to elevate data architecture capabilities across the organization.
  • Develop reusable architecture playbooks, reference patterns, and frameworks to uplift data architecture maturity.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment and adoption of data architecture standards and transformation roadmaps.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive background in enterprise data architecture, information architecture, or related senior roles within complex organizations.
  • Proven experience specifying target data architectures, information models, architecture principles, standards, reusable design patterns, and transformation strategies.
  • Deep understanding of structuring enterprise data domains, canonical models, authoritative sources, golden records, data ownership, and lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as data lakes, warehouses, operational data stores, streaming platforms, APIs, event-driven architectures, and analytics solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of governance-by-design including areas like metadata, lineage, quality, classification, access control, privacy, retention policies, audit, and observability.
  • Capability to interpret and integrate business, regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements into practicable architecture solutions.
  • Experience reviewing and guiding technology projects concerning data platforms, integration, reporting, and AI-ready data infrastructure.
  • Ability to detect and resolve data architectural issues such as duplications, inconsistent definitions, unclear system records, unmanaged flows, poor lineage, weak controls, and technical debt.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership in coaching and mentoring data architecture and engineering teams, fostering growth and capability enhancement.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving aptitude, proactive ownership, and a drive for positive organizational change.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Data Management, or similar fields; practical equivalent experience accepted.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture and data management frameworks such as TOGAF, DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM is advantageous.
