IT Infrastructure Administrator

Job Overview

The IT Infrastructure Administrator will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing servers, storage, virtualization, along with network environments both on-premises and in the cloud. This role requires ensuring optimal system uptime, implementing automation, managing cloud workloads, and collaborating with various teams to maintain reliable IT services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, and oversee servers, storage systems, virtual environments, and network infrastructure for both local and cloud platforms.
• Continuously monitor system performance, capacity, and accessibility to guarantee maximum uptime.
• Apply infrastructure automation and configuration management techniques along with monitoring tools.
• Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Deploy and optimize cloud workloads on platforms including Azure, AWS, and GCP ensuring cost effectiveness and security.
• Set up and troubleshoot networking components like LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and routing protocols.
• Work alongside security teams to adopt best practices encompassing patch management, access controls, and compliance policies.
• Manage backup strategies, replication, and disaster recovery methods maintaining business continuity.
• Contribute to business continuity planning and its operational execution.
• Collaborate with application, database administration, and support teams to provide dependable IT infrastructure services.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation including infrastructure schematics, standard operating procedures, and architectural diagrams.
• Carry out additional job-related tasks as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

• Hands-on experience managing Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, and virtualization environments such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Strong grasp of networking fundamentals including VLANs, firewall configurations, VPNs, and load balancing techniques.
• Proficiency with storage technologies, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
• Familiarity with monitoring systems and automation tools like PowerShell, Bash scripting, and Ansible.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities focused on maintaining high availability and security standards.
• Effective communication abilities and a cooperative team spirit suited for dynamic and fast-paced work settings.

Additional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline is required.
• Fluency in English (both verbal and written) is essential; Arabic language skills are preferred.
• Relevant professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV), Cisco CCNA or CCNP, CompTIA Network+ or Security+, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate are highly desirable.
