IT Engineer / Admin Officer

Job Summary

This position involves providing comprehensive IT support and network management duties to ensure smooth technical operations within the organization. The role demands proficiency in network security, troubleshooting, and user support in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver technical assistance and oversee network administration, including security protocols, routing, and resolving errors.
• Maintain a professional attitude while assisting all organizational levels, managing multiple priorities efficiently.
• Support Windows LAN environments by managing workstations, servers, print servers, and network infrastructure for the head office.
• Enforce file system security measures, implement fault tolerance, and establish access permissions across staff levels.
• Configure remote site connections and automate report scheduling to streamline operations.
• Manage over 225 user accounts, setting up and maintaining Windows workstations.
• Operate a corporate enterprise backup system for data security.
• Collaborate with corporate IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Conduct end-user training on software applications and assist with LAN/WAN configurations and troubleshooting.
• Handle inventory management for servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and scanners from various vendors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Associate Degree in Computer Technology or related field.
• More than 7 years of diverse IT experience covering networking, administration, documentation, and IT policy enforcement.
• Proficient in network administration, technical IT support, and IT management practices.
• Experienced with multiple Microsoft operating systems, Office suites, MS Project, and MS Visio.

Skills and Technical Knowledge

• Strong grasp of PC compatible hardware installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance including hard drives, CPUs, motherboards, and peripheral devices.
• Expertise managing Microsoft Windows Servers (NT 4.0, 2000, 2003 & 2008), Cisco routers, SonicWALL firewalls, and network security solutions including antivirus software.
• Handling network components like lease lines, LAN/WAN setups, routers, switches, and fiber optics connectivity.
• Experience with TCP/IP configurations, DHCP, DNS, WINS, SMTP, FTP, and other standard network protocols.
• Familiarity with Novell Netware, GroupWise, and ZENworks.

Language & Communication

Fluent in English and Arabic, maintaining effective communications internally with senior management and externally with IT suppliers and internet providers.

Additional Responsibilities

• Develop IT-related policies, strategic planning, and budget proposals annually.
• Maintain all IT hardware and software within the department to support business operations.
• Provide comprehensive IT services tailored to SEPCO requirements.

Training

Required training includes networking, IT equipment maintenance, and security protocols.
