Role Overview
DXC Technology invites applications from experienced professionals for the role of IT Availability & Disaster Recovery Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This position involves overseeing the availability and disaster recovery preparedness across an extensive enterprise IT infrastructure. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining disaster recovery plans for essential services, orchestrating disaster recovery tests, evaluating recovery results, and collaborating with technical teams to address vulnerabilities in system resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain authorized disaster recovery plans and operational runbooks for vital IT services.
- Organize and schedule disaster recovery tests involving infrastructure, storage, database, and application teams.
- Establish clear test goals, document outcomes, and monitor corrective actions for tests that do not meet objectives.
- Measure recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO) against predefined benchmarks.
- Collaborate with business continuity partners to ensure alignment between IT recovery initiatives and overall business continuity strategies.
- Continuously monitor service availability relative to agreed service-level targets and analyze any incidents of downtime.
- Generate detailed availability reports highlighting incidents, root causes, patterns, and recommended improvements.
- Identify and keep an updated register of single points of failure and associated continuity and availability risks.
- Propose and track implementation of resilience enhancements through service improvement plans.
- Maintain up-to-date recovery documentation, including disaster recovery plans, test records, approvals, and remediation evidence.
- Assist in audit activities by supplying proof of effective recovery planning, testing, and controls.
- Ensure recovery documentation is reviewed and updated following major service or infrastructure changes.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least 9 years of experience within IT service management or infrastructure operations.
- Minimum 3 years dedicated to disaster recovery, IT service continuity, or availability management roles.
- Proven expertise in coordinating enterprise-wide disaster recovery plans and tests involving multiple technical teams.
- Solid understanding of RTO, RPO, failover test procedures, and resilience risk evaluation.
- Experience in monitoring IT service availability and reporting against targeted service levels.
- Practical familiarity with ITIL 4 availability management and service continuity frameworks.
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification mandatory.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement, documentation control, and reporting.
Desired Additional Qualifications
- Knowledge of disaster recovery tools and technologies such as Zerto, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Full Stack Disaster Recovery, Oracle Data Guard, or Microsoft Azure Site Recovery.
- Experience using monitoring and service management platforms like Dynatrace or ServiceNow.
- Understanding of ISO 22301 standards.
- Relevant certifications such as ISO 22301, Business Continuity Institute (BCI), or specialized disaster recovery technology credentials.
